parents and spectators

Parents/Spectators have a huge influence on the player’s enjoyment and success in football.  Children initially play football because they enjoy it – it’s fun. Therefore it is important for parents/spectators to remember that positive encouragement will contribute to:

● Players enjoying football

● A sense of personal achievement

● Self-esteem

● Assist to improve the player’s techniques and skills

The behaviour and attitude of parents/spectators have a significant bearing on a player’s attitude towards:

● Other players

● Officials

● Managers

● Spectators

Dexter Sports YFC want to ensure all their parents/spectators should display high standards of behaviour and act as role models for the players, always be positive and encourage all players not just their own.

We encourage parents/spectators to:

● Applaud the opposition as well as there own team

● Do not shout and scream

● Give encouragement

● Respect the referee’s and their assistants’ decision

● Do not argue with the opposing side’s players/spectators

Dexter Sports YFC must ensure at all times that all the parents and spectators agree and adhere to the club’s Codes of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.

Behaviour that brings the Club into disrepute will not be tolerated, remember to treat everyone with respect.  Any person found in breach of the above may be asked to leave the Club.
